The HUB Student Social Innovators Competition
HUB Islington is looking for entrepreneurial students with a creative and hands-on approach towards tackling the social and environmental problems of our society.
We are inviting budding entrepreneurs, currently enrolled in university, who have an innovative business plan to take a venture with real social / environmental impact to the next level. It might be something you’ve been working on as part of a course, or a project set up in your free time. It doesn’t matter if the plan is for a not-for-profit or a profit-making business – but it must show genuine commitment to creating a radically better world.
The winning team will be able to spend two months at Hub Islington, over the Summer break and will benefit from full Hub membership, access to high level training and support via the Hub Academy, valuable connections within the Hub social enterprise network and beyond, as well as expert advice on investment opportunities and further support available.
We are looking for teams of between two and four, who must be currently enrolled fulltime students and under the age of 26.
The judging panel will include Indy Johar, co-founder of Hub Westminster and of strategic design & architecture practice 00:/ and Antonio Borges, serial entrepreneur and founder of the Hub Academy.
The HUB Islington is the original in a worldwide network of local co-working spaces that foster social innovation through collaboration – home to a friendly and diverse community of entrepreneurs, innovators, thinkers, artists, mobile workers and investors with a shared vision of a radically better world. To date, there are 30+ open HUBs and many more in the
making, from London to San Francisco, Johannesburg, Melbourne and Sao Paulo. There are three Hubs in London, and Islington is where it all began.
